Collection: About Us
The Bowersocks
So how did this all start? Great question! We still ask ourselves the same question many years later.
To keep a long story short (well kind of), we started our "little" farm back in 2016. After my husbands schooling we moved back to our little hometown in midwest Ohio. We settled back in 2011 and worked through life. In 2016 we got the oppurtunity to purchase land a few miles down the road from our home, from their all the dreams became possible.
Fast forward, we got our first herd of bison in 2018. All of it was brand new, with my husband growing up on a pig farm, we new a little, but not nearly as much as we do today! We slowly grew from bison and included elk, highland cattle, yak, watusi, and kune kune pigs. We started as a small farm, selling meat to locals who were interested. Until we blew up on Tik Tok over night! The success fueled a spark that lead to making this all possible!
We don't have your typical midwest farm, but we call it home.
A little more about us! My husband and I married over 20 years ago, in which we have three children, two sons and a daughter. Over the years we were lucky to welcome a daughter-in-law and son-in-law to the family. Both my husband and I work in the medical field, as well as loving to travel , watching baseball and spending quality time with family. Along with the family we have two very lazy english bulldogs, Dexter and Diesel.
Needless to say the farm keeps us all on our toes. There is also something happening to make our heads spin, and keep large smiles on everyones face. Everyday we learn something new and manage to squeeze the time in to make sure our animals live a happy life.
We may not be the "normal" farm life you see online, but we wouldn't trade our day to days for anything else! We hope you love our farm just as much as we do!
